Weekend- Friday

Yah! I got approved for the foodie blogroll/foodbuzz.... But I deleted the emailed to quickly, so now I have to figure out how to set it up!

This weekend has been AWESOME and INCREDIBLY FUN!

Friday:

Shopping with Mom! We actually had such a fun time shopping we couldnt bare to stop and eat- we grabbed a soft pretzel and Fuze EMPOWER! I have been waiting for these to arrive and really liked them! Pomegranate Acai Berry

It was pouring down rain the whole day but that did not deter us! I bought new bedding finally! I have been searching for exactly what I found for a while and it could not have been a more perfect find, on sale! I also found guest room towels on clearance and a dust ruffle for the guest room bed. My mom bought me new placemats and some new bowls ( I have been wanting to make blog pictures more interesting!) and workout top AND I found a great shirt and dress!

We spent so much time shopping that when I got home, I wanted to wash everything and get it ready for guests!

Dinner: Leftover pizza with lots of veggies ( I actually ended up putting the veggies on the pizza then making a veggie pizza sandwich out of it! I wanted to take a picture but my hands were all dirty at that point!)

Hot Delicious 24-inch Pizza

I went to the gym after my metabolism exam and I am BEYOND overjoyed that I did!

Body:
I biked 12 miles in 26 minutes! Random Hill Program is Awesome! I also did 30 minutes on the Elliptical! This felt TRULY AMAZING! I have not been able to get in a great workout for about two weeks it seems ( although my yoga and 3 mile run on sunday DID feel kinda fantastic as Yoga+Runs usually are!)

Mind:
SMOOTH SAILING UNTIL FINALS! By this I mean, I still have to interview a freshmen with april about her food choices, code and analyze all the data, start and finish a research paper on Intermediate Hyperglycemia ( the precursor to Diabetes Type 2), and write a response paper for minority health readings. All of this will be WAY more managable though than this past week though!

I posted about nutrient metabolism without looking at my notes! Woohoo! And I am so happy I did well this week on my two presentations and exam! Sigh of Relief~ Thanks for all your well wishes!

Soul:
Get to see my mom tommorow! We are meeting half way between where we live and doing some shopping, exchanging of blinds and catching up! Hooray!
Our friends arrive tomorrow evening AND this amazing friend-not really because she left to go to grad school just after we met- is coming into town too! We both joke about how we feel like we would have become best friends but timing wasn't there... so it will be an absolute fantastic, stress free, fun filled, visit filled weekend!

After I got back I called Jeff and we decided on pizza from our FAVORITE place! Well.... we usually just get a slice each because they are these HUGE 6 inch wide, 12 inch long slices . So I looked at our coupons to get the number and I see their 18 inch pizza is $9... So I figured with friends in town this weekend, we could get te 24 inch for not terribly much more.

Jeff came home with this bad boy:

The picture does not do it justice- It was literally a 3 foot by 3 foot wide box that he could barely fit into his truck! Do you see that cup!? That is a big, 18 oz cup in the background! Unfortunately, the guy on the phone wouldn't tell me how much it cost- so i assumed it would only be a little more than $15 -I was way off! Jeff told me it cost $27 !! For one pizza ( granted it was huge and could feed two families!)

Yikes! Thank goodness it was cut into small squares, so I could enjoy three and a little guy missing from the photo! and Hooray For LEFTOVERS! And hoooray for such an amazing boyfriend Jeff that buys me a $27 pizza~

Another view of our gorgeous tree- I love fall foliage!

I feel on top of the world! Ah

single tear...

Dinner: I made a pizza!! I went to Trader Joes for some grocery shopping after class so that I would be stocked for next week! I made whole wheat crust ( refridgerated dough is only $1 at TJ!) and topped it with Brie and Smoked Salmon on one half, Tomato and Turkey Pepperoni and Mozzarella on the other... All sprinkled with Parm/Reggiano.
Yum Yum Yum! I had a quarter with the salmon and a quarter with the pepperoni/tomato.

Lunch:

Organic Gala Apple

Salad: Organic Spring Mix with tomato, onion, Herb Garlic Starkist Tuna, and some Annies Organic Mac n Cheese ... ( I did only a half of one serving but it looks like ALOT more in my picture!)

Body:

Run! It was absolutely GORGEOUS weather I couldn't resist ! 68 degrees, breezy, sunny!
I took the brown dog, Jack, with me on all the hills right around our neighborhood for a quick 20 minute run then we walked another 1 mile or so ( he needed to cool down!)

Strength Training: BBQ and Abs ( not too heavy though) and then Yoga !

Mind:
I have SOOO much work to do next week for classes- Big Nutrient Metabolism Exam Thursday-(glycolysis through the pentose phosphate pathway), Yogurt Presentation Tuesday, Presentation Wendesday on Increasing Childhood Obesity Rates in Northern Plains American Indian Children

I am a good way through my wednesday presentation- I need to finish that tomorrow and practice it over the weekend...

Soul:
I talked with my brother for 52 minutes!!! ( it was his birthday) I love him SOO much and miss him SOO much ( as I do my other brother and my sister too) and I wish he would move closer than 1,000 miles away. Anyhow, we talked about everything from classes, his life, my work, my running, nutrition, fitness, hurricanes, presents, holiday plans...

I haven't seen him in over 2 years ( at my sister's wedding!) We spent this amazing thanksgiving together when I was out of college.... I had just moved and he lived about 30 minutes from me. I drove to his new apartment and we spent hours chatting. We searched all over the city for this one restaurant that he was told was fabulous. We couldn't find it though! We tried going to this one building but it turned out to be apartments! We were walking back to the car when we both spotted the sign for the restaurant! So we finally got there and waited for a table. It was by far the most fantastic meal ever- they had this gigantic thanksgiving buffet, you know the kind with thirty different desserts ?! Five layered tiramisu cake, five layer red velvet, etc etc pumpkin pie galore, salmon, turkey, chicken, steak, all the veggies, four different salads, baked potatoes, potato gratin, sweet potato souffle, the list goes on. It was an amazing display and amazing in taste! The best part, over any food that night, was that I shared it with him. We laughed so much my stomach hurt. I know I will never forget it and wish I had more times like that with all my family, but I was so thankful to have that thanksgiving with family, with him...

Wednesday

Body:

1 hour 45 minute Walk with Andrea ( I can't wait, in 9 days she is getting married at the beach!! Jeff's brother, sister, mom and stepdad, and us are renting a house for the weekend/week!)

When I got home I did strength training: Abs, Back, Biceps, Quads. I did some rehab for my knee ( orthopedic appt. next week).

I also cleaned all the floors with some new Pledge products. They have supposed allergen trappers- so far they seem to work great!

Mind:

Not so present today- but that's the point is Balance right? Both body and soul were "heavy" today so I do not mind NOT reading a ton or researching etc. I did do two suduko puzzles and wrote down a list of things I needed to get done (see below)!

Soul:

Walking was soooooo fantastic because I could catch up with Andrea and get exercise and take in lovely scenery. We made a plan to do it again thursday!

I deposited a check at the bank, returned DVD's , rented another, mailed a thank you note, cleaned all the floors, washed the guest room stuff... emailed back to "Work " about returning, made a doctor's appointment, ordered the book Organic Inc for class-

I know these seem like small silly things... but I have been sitting on all of this , procrastinating and pushing it all aside, mostly because it wasn't "urgent" stuff. It truly felt GREAT to get all these little silly things taken care of because as they build up and up, it bogs me down because I havent "finished"them.

Woohoo!
( I couldnt find my camera anywhere, it was upstairs in its holder ( of course where it is supposed to be!)

Breakfast:
Waffles, Strawberry Flax! Delicious! Much moister than the blueberry!

Lunch: Salmon and Wrap and Salad

Dinner: We went out to get free apps. at this local place- which is no longer offering free aps! Ugh! I had a glass of pinot grigio, one big piece of pizza and three small wings.
